Cortfey, corner of Devon and Mt. 10d ircciiiub© Streets, on WEDNESDAY, the Second Day of August, 1905, bctw»en the hours of 0 a.m. and 7 p.m., upom the following proposals of the Council, namely, To borrow by way of special loans tho sums of £SOOO and £7OOO respectively at a rate of interest not exceeding £5 per centum per annum, with a sinking fund of J per cent, additional, the loans to toe repayable on a pericji ending the first day of October, 1922, and to be for the following purposes:— £SOOO to lay out a new street bp-> tween Gill Street and St. Aubyn Street in the Borough of Now- Plymouth, to ac'quir# fn connection with laying out of such street, hitch lands and appurtenances as luay be required, to pay compensation tt any person injuriously affected, to construct a new bridge and approaches thereto, and such street formation, channelling, and metalling as may be roquired for the laying out of such street, and to ellect any other works incidental to or in relation to any of the oiovo purposes. £7OOO to pay liabilities already in, curred and to complete tho additions and extensions to the Waterworks, to pay liabilities already incurred and to complete the work of lighting the streets and public places of the Borough with electricity ; and thq supply of electricity ; and to carry out any other works incidental to or in relation to of the above purposes.
The Council proposes to pledge as security for the loan 1 of £SOOO and the interest thereon a special rjute of one penny half-penny (ljd) in the £ on the rateable value (|on tho basis of the annual value) of all rateable property withjn the Borough and its revenues, rents, tolls, issues and profits, with the exception of all lands taken, accjuirod, or used for a ("public abattoir, and all buildings, erections, structures and appurtenances now or hereafter thereto belonging, and the revenues, rents, tolls and profits therefrom, and also excepting moneys received or receivable by way of grant from the Government.
