YOUNG MAN'S FOURTH TRIAL. (Per Press Association.) mu ( AUCKLAND, July 25. The fourth trial of Herbert Pearson upon a charge of committing rape on a married woman in October, 1904 was continued before the Chief Justice to-day. After the evidence for the Crown closed, Mr Lumsden called Pearson who corroborated counsel's statement that the visit was pre-arranged and that ihew had been acts of impropriety before.
