SETTLING THEM ON THE LAND. I (Received July 20, 9.41 p.m.) MELBOURNE, July 20. ' Mr Bent, Victorian Premier, is having a scheme prepared to settle the unemployed on land on the Danish system. The sum of £75 is granted to erect a dwelling, and £125 to , N procure implements and stock. Repayments are for the same period as under the Closer Settlement Act. Tire' Premier expects to have 400 men . settled before Christmas. He proposes to spend about £BOOO.
