The committee set up in connection with the movement to provide a sanatorium for consumptives in ■ North Canterbury decided upon the appointment of sub-committees in the different centres in the district. Informal discussion regarding site took place, one speaker taking exception to plac-ing-the sanatorium at Bottle Lake. Dr. Finch, District Health Ofllrcr, said the great advantage of the site mentioned was that there were 150 acres which would cost nothing It was not now held that a high altitude was necessary f or a sanatorium and patients could be dealt with satisfactorily at.
