(Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, July IS. Last night, as Captain de Velia, of the Albatross, was walking along the beach between Northco-tc ami Birkenhead points, his attention was arrested by a heavy blowing noise out in the bay. On approaching the spot he saw a monstrous fish apparently stranded on the sand 'bank, and making vigorous but ineffectual efforts to escape. With some assistance, Captain de Velin went out to the fish, which proved to be a whal£ of the bottle species, about 25ft in length.
