ARBITRATION ACT AMENDMENT.

(Received July 17, 10.9 p.m.) , , SYDNEY, July 17. A deputation from the Sydney Labour Council urged the Premier to make the preference clause effective in amending the Arbitration Bill. The Premier (Mr Carruthers', in reply, said ihe amending Bill vould be introduced in about a fortnight. Ho believed the measure would commend itself to men who thought dispassionately.
