OFFICIAL REASSURANCE. GREAT, ASD RAPID IMPROVEMENT. (Received Jul}- 14, 11.13 p.m.) L»MX>X, July 11 In the House of Uonmtons, iMmting the vote of £445,000 for the War Office, Hon. U. Amo'd-Forstcr, Minister for War, affirmed, in reply to Lord Roberts' 'statement in ths House of Lords on Monday, that there had been great, and rai>id improvement in the personnel, material, and organisetiion of the Anjny. He quoted some remarks of Ceneral French, according to , •whom every branch is progressing. The Minister added that he looked forward to the Militia* becoming the neucleiis of the Army. In the House of I.iords, Rtrl Ivinlithgow, in reply to Lord Ellenboroogh, stated that the Government was considering the question of the control of news in war time.
