(Received July 13, 11.57 p.in) MELBOURNE, July 13. The Labour Conference, alter long debate, passed a motion that Federal candidates should sign a pledge not to join any alliance unless il li.nl obtained the sanction of the combined Labour organisations. Eventually it was resolved that a Federal Labour Party enter no alliance extending beyond the life of a Parliament during which it is contracted. The Conference also adopted a resolution repudiating with indignation charges that the Labour movement is endeavouring to weaken the sanctity of the marriage tie and un.ieiniinc the foundations ol religious belief.
