RE-DISTRIBIiTION OF SEATS
(Received July 12, 0.25 a-m ) LONDON, July 11. In the House of Commons, Mr tie!laid Balfour, President of Ihe local Government Board, gave notice.of the ! redistribution of seats resolutions, giving England a gain of sevenlocn • seats', Wales one and Scotland four, Ireland losing twenty-two. i The scheme is arranged on the genjeral basis of each member representing 6500 electors, but the present- constituencies of 7500 arc allowed to retain two members ; boroughs below 18,500 cease to exist as a separate constituency.
