Slips made 4s 6d to 7s (id, small stores 9s to 18s, horse £3 15s, boncdust and guano tnadr Is Hd to 5s fid cwt. At the Mart a splendid lot of really good poultry came forward. There Was spirited bidding • and excellent prices were realised! Pullets made Is Kd to Is M, hens Is 6d to 2s 6d, roosters Is 5d to 4s 2d, ducks Is 6(1 to 3s bd. A quantity of sundries made low prices. On Wednesday I held a clearing sale ot furniture on ..ocount of Mrs J. Patterson, when there was a targe attendance, and Tcrj Rood prices were realised. Cattle.—At Waiwakaiho rn Tuesday weaners made 15s to ?fs *>l, git>d calves 24s to 3fls, calves to yearlings 35s to 40s M, M months to 2 Vfar steers £2 13s to £2 '.«s 61, st.>:e cows £2 7s 6d, one choice springing heifer £5 17s 6d. . On Thursday at Tariki I hrld a very successful clearing talc on account of Mr C. Simons. The herd of ninety cows was of good average quality in nice condition. Bidding from the start was well maintained right through the sale, prices reali* ed being most satisfactory. Early calvers made £6 to £B, one cow at full profit £9 15s, late calvers £i 5s to £6 15s, aged and backward cows £2 5s to £3 lfls, empty eows £2 10s lirilers in calf £3 to £1 Is, bulls 32s 6d to £2 Ws, calves 265, mixed sheep 19s, one 2) year 'unbtokeD filly £l6 rss, one do. £8 ss. one draught do. £IK ss, harness pony £9, breeding sow £2 13s, boar 10s. MESSRS VICKERB k STEVENS' HEPORT. Owina to the wet weather there was not a large muster oi cattle in our fnglcwood yards on Wednrsday and bidding was dull. Calves made from £1 3s to £1 7s ; IK to 20 months heifers £2 7s 6d to £3 9s, spring calvers £2 15s to £4 10s, springers £4 to £3 lis, fat cows. £1 15s. ' MESSRS BEWLEY AND GRIFFITHS' WEEKLY REPORT. We report a large entry of poultry, over 200 birds being penned. Bidding was brisk and good prices realised ; hens, Is 3d to 2s 6d, cockrels, Is 4d lo 2s 7d, pullets, 2s to 2s sd, turkeys,, 4s 3d to 6s Id. ducks, Is l»d • to 2s 6d, geese. 3s 6d. A large consignment of fruit and ornamental trees was cleared at satisfactory prices. The balance of the drapery slock found good prices, country buyers being unlimited ; out of (lie 10 eases of drapery only 2 Were left unsold. A dealing sale was held during the week at Mrs Easton's residence, when ;hc whole of Ihe household effects were disposed of. Kruit is very quirt on account of the cold weather. Ilanauas are Winging 5s case, peanuts, ljdlb, apples, 7s 6d case, oranges 5s 6d to 6s. A clearing sale was also held at Mrs E. Carter's residence, Courtcnay street. Although a wet day there Was a good attendance, everything changed hands very satisfactorily. Potatoes, (Canterbury prime), Chaff, (Southern), oa-ls. mai7.e., peas, wheat, onions, etc., at usual market prices. AIIDINGTOX STOCK MARKET. At the Addington yards there Were moderate cntritss in almost all departments, and a fair attendance. There was a keen demand for forward store sheep and breeding ewes, and a small yarding of fat cattle, resulting in a rise of prices. Prime fat lambs sold at about la*-: rales, ami backward stores were Fat wethers were very firm, whit, ewes ihowed a decline, ttgs of -jj classes were firmer. There was a poor sale for store and dairy tattle. only 117 head, mostly useful steers, and a large number of pens were passed at first but afterwards sold, Hie market arrowing an advance of TVs to -fls per head over the previous week's rates. A line of 12 steers from C. Daiupicr Crosslcv (H-awar-den) made £7 17s 6d lu £9 12s 6d. 17 heifers frum llawkswood £5 12s 6d to £8 2s 6d. Steers sold at £7 5s to. £lO, trailers £5 to ,£6, cows £4 I7s 6d to £6, equal to 21s to 23s for .medium and IXs to 20s per 10Mb. Veal calves sohl at 7s 6d to £2 ss. Store and dairy cattle—Store cattle were miied, and there was little demand for the few yarded. There were no really good dairy cows entered, and the demand was slack, the highest price at auction being £7 15s. Pigs—There was a moderate yarding, and an improvement all round in prices, nspcciallv in stores, llaconers made 15s to -IDs, heavier weights to Bis, cqnial to 3|d to Id per It ; porkers 28s to 3lis, equal to Id per ib ; large stores 2Ds to 30s, medium 12s 6d to 17s 6d, weaners 6s to 10s 6d.
