CHBISTCHUHCH, June 21. At Addington yards to-day, with the exception of fat sheep and fat cattle, the entries of stock were small, but there was a good attendance. I There was an improved demand for I store sheep, sjgl lat) lauibsl were very firm. Ueef again met with a dull sale. There was a further decline in the demand and prices for pigs. Fat sheep except inbred ewes, sold well. Store and dairy cattle met with little demand. Store sheep.—Tiie yarding was principally of wethers, and the improvement in the weather evidently had an effect upon tfi© demand, and there was much better inquiry, and prices were firmer. The principal sales, were v-1-76 two-tooth wethers 18s 9d 200 four and six-tooth 17-s 6d, 100 at 18s Id, 250 at 17s 2d, 117 four and six-tooth 17s 6d, 200 mixed ages 17s 7d, 105 at 16s lOd, 120 at ICs 9d, 70 at 16s Id; hoggets, 70 at 15s 4d, 91 at 14s, 100 at 13s Id ; a few small lots of aged crossbred ewes in lamb 12s Id to 14s 2d. Fat lambs.—The entry was small, and was principally composed' of medium quality, only a few pens being really prime. There was keen competition on the part of export (buyers, and prices were very firm. The range of prices was :—Tegs 19s to 20s, extra heavy to 23s Id, standard weights 17* 6d to 18s 93, lighten 15s 6d to 17s. Fat sheep.—There was a fairly large yarding in about equal proportion of wethers and ewes. The majority of wethers were well finished, and these sold firmly at laitc rates. Best ewes also met with gooJ competition, but inferior sorts were 1 ealsicr. being neglected tjjy both exporters and butchers. Range of prices :—Prime wethers 22s to 255. extra to 28s 6d, lightfcr and unfinished 18s Sd to 21s Gd ;■ prime ewe" 19s to 21s 3d, medium 17si to 18s Od, others 14s to 16s fid ; merino ewes lis 5d to 325-. Stores were very difficult to dispose of.
