THE COUNCIL of the BOROUGH OF NEW PLYMOUTH hereby gives PUBLIC NOTICE that it pro, poaes to borrow by way of special loans the sums of £3OOO and £7OOO, respectively, at a rate of interest) not exceeding £5 per centum per annum, with a sinking fund ol >J per cent, additional.'the loans to ino'repayable on a period ending the Ist (flay, of October, 1922, and to (be for tbo following purposes :

£SOOO to lay out a now street }*- tween GUI Street and St. Aubyn Street in the Borough of New Plymouth, to acquire in connection with laying out of suchstreet sucb, lands and' appurtenances as may he required, to pay ' compensation to any person injuriously 'affected, to construct a new bridge and, approaches thereto, and such street formation, channelling and metalling us may bft required for the laying out of such street, and to effect any other works incidental to or in relation to any of the above purposes. £7OOO to pay liabilities already incurred and to complete the additions end extensions to the Waterworks ;i jto- pay liabilities already incurred and to complete the Work of lighting the streets and public places of the Borough .'With electricity, and the supplying of electricity ; and to cirry out any other works incidental to or in relation to any of the above purposes. THE COUNCIL proposes to pledge as security for the loan of £SOOO and the interest thereon a special rate of one penny halfpenny (lj) in the £ on the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable property within the Borough and its revenues, rents, tolls, issues and profits, with the exception of all lands taken, acquired, or used for a public abattoir, , and / all buildings, erections, structures and appurtenances now or hereafter thereto belonging, and the revenues, rent, tolls, and profits therefrom, and also excepting moneys received or receivable by way of grant from the Government.
