School Commissioners.

The Board of School Comnilasioners met on Friday. Present: Hessrsi J, Wade, H. Faull, 0. E. Major and W, T. Jennings, and F * Simpson. The Secretary for Education notified that Mr C. E. Major, M.H.R., had been appointed in succession to MrR. Cock. On the motion of Mr Simpson Mr Wade was elected i Chairuian of the Board. »

J e ßoon, sec 1322, New Plymouth. ; Tho Board sanctioned the transfer by ti. Swan and Lionel Randall of sub-lease from 0. T. Kundlc of part sec 2)5, Hua and Weiwakaitto, subject to approval of papers by tho i Board's solicitor. . ] The Board approved a transfer by W, B. Holland tote. J. Hall, of sul*i lease from A. J. Maloncof part see.. 21, block 8, Kav.pokonui. Messrs Govett and QuilMam applied for tho consent of the Board to a aub-lcaso from Mr J. Downs to tho Now Plymouth Borough Council of a small portion of sec. 215, New Plymouth, required am a site for a ftre station. The matter was referred to, tho Chairman with power to apt. Leave was granted to Michael O'-/ Connor to underlet sec. 150, Hua! and Walwakaiho districts, to EdwinMay for five years at £llO per annum.

The treasurer reported a balance of £BO7 14s 4d ; ateo that he had placed on depos t for 121 months -a sum of £266 9s lOd, being nett amdiinV -of compensation received from the Eltham Borough Council* The land fund now stood at £O9O Hr 6d. Authority was given to pay out £7OO on account of primary 'education.
