FREIGHTS TO LOKJXW REDUCED, (Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, June 8. It is understood arrangements have been made by the New Zealand Shipping Company and Shaw, SaViUand Albion Compjany for a reduction iar the freight on butter and cheese. The present contract has twe year* to run, onSJ tho BlfflpuHjg 4tM OHh shipping companies desired, if a new contract was made, that it should be for seven years. The companies hav* now agreed to a five years' contract. Rules for butter for the first tw* years will be : Boxes Jd. kegs 11ltid ; for the remaining throe years : Boxes 9-1 od, kegs Sd. Chceso freights will be id per pound net; weight, without primage, if (hV freight is paid in the colony, and two per cent, primage if paid in London. The saving to the dairy industry is estimated at £25,000 pet< annum.! Thu contract for the South TiQsailt will not i>e concluded till approved! by the Dairy Association next wc«B» but it is understood the Norther* Hairy Association .'has agreed to tho contract.
