THURSDAY'S FIRST GRADE. Considerable .interest was taken in, Uio mooting of Star and Stratford at( Stratford. A well contested game resulted. At. half-time Stratford led by 8 points to 3, tout Stars showing good form, surprised .t hcir supporters by making up the deficiency, the match ending in a tuipw, with ft points each. Star's score included » tries, by Murphy and Abbott respectively, the latter converting. Inglewood wera to have ' played Clifton at Waiitara, but forfeited thu match.. SECOND GRADE. Tukapa and Stratford teams met, on the Recreation Ground, the latter prevailing by 5 points to nil. The match set down for decision at lndlewood was that ot Clifton v., logjluwood. Ingilcwood was unable to got a team together, and throe senior players had to bo pressed into! service. A scratch match was played' resulting in a ,win for the local team by 4 points. The mat'.'h, however,, goes to Clifton - oa a forfeit. THIRD GRABE. Tukupa v. Inglewoodl, at Inglewood —Tukapa, playing three men short,, Secured« win by 5 points to nil. Star A. y.
