Taranaki Ports' Exports.
The secretary of the Taranaki Chamber of Commerce (Mr 11. IJedi ford) prepared for the annual meeting a most interesting and useful return showing the quantities and values of the principal exports from Taranaki ports for the "year ending March 81, 1905. The values weio those declared through tho Customs. The trade includes Mew Zealand, Australasian, and foreign. Following are the totals for tho three ports—New Plymouth, Waitaru, and Patea— those for Opunukc not being available. Hacon and hams, 54 cwt, value £195 ; butter 149,000 cwt, value £653,308 ; cheese. 18,366 cwt, £40,249 ; fungus, 108.1 cwt. £2247 ; hides 3588, £2S7t5 ; leather 184 cwt.£77o; frozen beef 35,413 cwt, £49,57(i ; frozen Uuirb, 28,311 carcases alHoi 7987 cwt, £1(i,205 ; frozen mutton 11,78-1 carcases also (1102 cwt, £9,102 ; frozen meat, other kinds, 1250 cwt, £1(123 ; preserved meat 1369 cwt, £2527 ; skins, call and 0.k., 358 £B7 ; sheepskins, without wool, 7GBO £277 ; tallow 489 tons. £l'l.2»'. timbc>-, Urensfxl,' y6,OC« feerj £100; wool, graisy, 1,301,491 ll\ £34,666; wool, scoured, 4181 lb, £156; wool, sliped, 83,273 lb, £2,661 ; wool, -washed, 7976 lb, £241.
