Admiral lSnquist asked permission! to repair his vessels at Manila. The American authorities examined his shi]:s, and report that the Olog will take sixty days, the Aurora thirty, and the Jemtcliug seven. Admiral Enquist's executive officer states that the flag captu in was killed, I'rince Pa teal on wounded, twenty men of the Aurora k Had, and B}J wounded. Of the Oleg's crew 13 were killed and 18 wounded, und of the Jumtchug's 21 junior officer* were killed, and twelve men were killed and 30 wounded. The ships ivere hit with shells, and eo badly damaged was the Oleg in the fight that the Admiral- transferred his flag to the Aurora, which the destroyers and submarines immediately attacked. The submarines were so overwhelming that the Aurora, taking nil vantage of a mist, dashed for the open sea, the Jemtchug and Oleg follow-
Admiral Enquist was wounded. The Japanese warship Sahanatni's officers sfctfte that the Russian RUnboat Bildovj-, when overtaken, hoisted a white flag with a red cross,and signalled that Admiral Hozhdestvensky and his stafl were aboard. When the surprised and overjoyed Japanese boarded the vessel, the Uuss>ian officers were found around Admiral Hozhdeatvensky, who was lying in a pool o( blood at the bottom of the destroyer, and almost unconscious. The oflicers pathetically appealed to the Japanese to be merciful, and not remove the Admiral lest his wounds should rc-open. The Japanese consented to risk re-capture, and lowed the Bildovy to Sasebo. Tho Japanese telegraphed to Madame liozhdmtvcnsky that her husband's wounds were healing rapidly. The ofliccr commanding the torpedo flotilla states that he found the Dmitri Donskoi abandoned oil an i»lund on the southern coast of Korea, the survivors being landed under the white'flag. When the Japanese were preparing to seize the vessel she suddenly rolled to starboard, and sank in three minutes. Her vice-captalD declared that the *ship had not been wilfully sunk, but had foundered after receiving five or six torpedoes. Twothirds of the crew were killed, and the captain died of his wounds in the Sascbo hospital.
