COMMITTEE MEETING. ( On Monday evening a meeting of the guneral committee of the Taranaki Agricultural Society was held, at the office of the secretary (Mr E. P. Webster). There were 15 cominittootucn present, presided over by, Mr Newton Kifig. The committee decided to hold this year's show on Wednesday and Thursday, Nov. 29 and 30. The work of laying down in gruss a suitable area on the racecourse ground for a show ring within convenient runge of the grandstand was reported to have been completed, and accounts approximating £6O in connection therewith were passed for payment. A discussion took place on the privilego accompanying members', tickets, and it was decided to extend them in the direction of giving two ladies' tickets with each member's ticket. to admit of all privileges on the ground. 11 was decided to write to manufacturers in the coJony/casking them to extend their proposed limitation of territory at which to show exhibits as far north as New Plymouth, particularly as ihe local show is held only a week later thun that at Haweru, which is included in their itinerary.

Mr Ambury introduced the question of inaugurating a judging competition for the young men and amateurs of the district, and it was decided to institute a competition in horse, cattle, and sheep classes, a cash prize with certificate to Jjp given. Messrs J. S. Connclt, Stanley, Cliff, Aiibijury, Watson, OUjy, Stead, Tait, and Colson were appointed a committee to go through the schedule.

The conditions of the milking test competition were discussed, but nothing definite was decided upon. Opinion appeared to bo in favour of reducing the nuiribfcr of points conceded for cows, entered in the competition, recently calved. Last year one point was given fot every 10 daya over tho first 28 and up to 120 days after calving. There was also a feeling that a pair of cows should be stipulated, and not only one as last year.
