Egmont Road Board.
A meeting of ihe JCginont Road Board was held at tho office of the secrelary (Mi* I', C. Morton) on Saturday. Present: Messrs T. Row« (Chairman), F. Sahvay, J.- Martin, F. Davy, and H. Martin. Tho Government valuation for 1905-6 being £130,471, it was decided to strike a rate of five-eighths of one penny in the pound. It wbb decided to serve notice to clear tho gutters in front of their properties of furze, etc., on three ratepayers. The Board agreed to write to the Government for a loan of £SOO, to b» expended on Smart and Dorset ltoads, all the ratepayess interested having agreed to pay a spccia'l rate. Mr Marsh having paid his contributioa of £3 towards work on Kipl Road, waited on the Board to ask that the drains bo cleared out near' the school. This was agreed to and Mr Da"vy was authorised to have a small'ptSFlion of drain made at the Egmont School on tho Dorset Road, to carry off tho surface 'water. Accounts were paasod for payment.
