Voung, medium and light draughts £33 to £39 10s, aged £ls £5 to £32, ggod hacks and harness £lB to £29, light and ordinary £5 ; - is to £l2. At Remuera there was an average: , supply of beef. Steers from £6 15s to £ll 2s 6d, up to 23s per l#olb, ; * cows £4 lis to £8 ss, up to 20a per iy lOOltj. She?p were in short supply. Adrf. jyanced wethers 18s to 2Bs 6d, ewes ! -16s to 225, lambs 14s toi lßs, stores' , 8s to 12s 6d. Pigs were scarce, and sold freely. Porkers were in strong demand. - 1 ' ADDING TON STOCK MARKET* CHRISTCHURCH, May 31. k At Addiagtpn yards, there was', a fairly largo entry of almost all classj ts of stock, and there was a good attendance. Beef showed a sharp decline iu values. Fat lambs were I ■' somewhat irregular, but fat sheep < were, if anything, firmer. Store, Bht-pp met with a good demand. Pigs of all clcsses wcro very dull of sale. > " There was a good enquiry for the - best sorts of dairy tows. Store slie?p. The yarding was not large, and was composed, almost • entirely of wethers and hoggets.. There was a good demand, and prices wero ? still firmer. Two and four tooth . ewes brought from 17s 9d to* 18s fidi, six and eight tooth e*ves in lamli 22s 3d, aged lis, hoggets 13s 9d to 15s Bd. Fat lambs.— Jiuro was a fairly \ large yarding, a good proportion busing pi prime quality. The competi- • tion of export buyers was not so keen as of late, and the sale was somewhat irrcgulan. though values showed littl" or no "change. Tegs . made It's to 21s 6d, lamb weights , 16s to 18s 6d, unfinished sorts 13s lOd to 15s 6d. Fat she^p.—The yarding was good hoth as to number and quality, and all prime lots were well competed for. An export buyer was operating - in ewes, and generally thero was a Cr.n-1- tone throughout the sale. ■ Range of prices w*ts ;—Prime wethers (id to 255, others 19s 9d to 225;, ewes, extra heavy Downs to 24js 7d, prime heavy 19» to 23s>, medium to good I lis to 18s 6d, freezing ewes 16s Oil to 18s, aged 12s 9d to 15s 6d, mei ioo ewes Us 9d t» 13s 9d. Fat cattle. was an over supply, 259 head being penned. A very dull sale resulted, prices showing a ilecidcH declinu. really saleable. Cows and roughl sorts of steers were difficult to dispose of at any figure. Rutherford, of Montroas) made £7 2s 6d to £8 7s. Steers sold at £6 js to £5) 7s (id, heifers £4 l'Ts Cd to £7, cows £4 5s to £7 2s tkl, veal calves 8s 6d to £3. A line of vealers (E. Richards, Waihao Downs, averaged" £2 7s 3d. Stove and dairy cattle. There were a few good lines amongst thes-- ottered, bui there appeared to be mo buyers/ and* most of the lots wero passed in. Really good dairy cows were wanted, but other sorts were not so brisk of sale. Yearlings made 15s to 20s, fifteen to eighteen months 42s to 48s, two-year-old steers £3 9s, three-year-old steers £4 4s to £4 17e ea, three-j ear-old heifers £4 3s 6d, dry <wws 3Cs to £4, best dairy cows £8 to£lo 10s, others £4 to £7 10s. Figs.—There was a fairly large yaidinj, but the bulk of baconere and porkers were not well finished. Baconers made 38s to 48s, and heavy weights up to s?s, equal to 3d to 4d per lb ; porkers 23s to 325, equal to 4d to 4Jd per lb ; largo stores, 16s to 235, medium 10s to 15s, weaners 6s to 95.. , . MB NEWTON KING'S WEEKLY AUCTION REPORT. At the Haymarket on Saturday a fnis ntraifcier ofpigs were soild, stores making 6s 6d to 15s 6d, weaners 5s to 6s. At the Mart an exceptionally fine lot qf poultry came forward, and sold at prices in advance of last week's sale. Purebred fowls made 3s to 4s 6d, good pullets Is 4d to 2s, hens is to Is 1 lid, roosters Is 6d to 3s Bd, ducks Is 6d to Is 9; turkeys 5s 3d, onions l}d, cheese sd. A quantity of furniture, books, and sundries were disposed of at prices in favour of buyers. Fruit.—The market has of late been fairly glutted with oranges and green -bananas, consequently prices have been low. I quote as' follows :—Oranges, largo cases, 3s to 6s ; ditto.; small cases, 2s to 3s 6d ) bananas, inferior, 2s 6d to ss; apples, dessert, Cs 6d to 9s ; apples., cookers, 5s to 7s 6d ; persimmons, 2s 6d to 4s. Oottle.—At Stratford "on Tuesday there was a big muster of stock, and a very large attendance. Bidding for roost classes was fairly brisk throughout the sale, And prices showed a slight improvement all round, weaners especially making fetter values. Calves made 120 to 24s <sd, 15 to 18 months steers 37s to 13s, 1-8 to 20 months do. £2 5s 6d to £2 lis, 2 to 2i year do. £3 5a f sd, 18 months heifers £2 10s, 2 vear do. in calf £3 to £3 ]2s '6d -tore cows 30s to 52s Cd, fat land forward do. £3 13s 6d to £4 7n 6d. At Rahotu on Thursday there \yas improved demand and the majority. *)f fines were sold at fair prices.
