EXEMPLARY SENTENCES.
FLOGGING ORDERED.; (Per Press Association.) INVEROARGILL, June 1. Albert Prentice, aged 23, and James Bernard Finnertj',, aged 22, who were yesterday found guilty of rapq under revolting- circumstances, were each sentenced to twelve yeatp' imprisonment, and t Q receive a flogging of 25 strokes. The Judge commented severely on the crime, and said the. flogging was repugnant to him. It might, however, just as woH tie wiped off the Statute Hook unless inflicted in this case.
