OCR KAVAL SUBSIDY. (Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, June 1. The Premier visited Tapanui today, and was welcomed by the Mayor and others. He visited the ' District High School, and initiated a branch of tha Navy League. He then visited the State Nursery, and was after wards entertained at dinner. In-, the evening he addressed a public meeting at the Town Hall, which was welt filled. The Premier's address was on the lines of his previous speeches. A unanimous vote of thanks to the Premier and of confidence in the Government was carried. Speaking at a banquet at Knitanga,ta last night, the Premier, in referring to the events in the Far East, said it was an argument for further increasing the New Zealand contri nation tolhe cost of the navy. With an increase of New Zealand's contribution to J90.000, and that of Australia to £200,000, they would have a better and more efneent squadron. It was necessary to keep the ocean free for our produce, and, apart from the question of Empire, the colony ought to do something more. The sooner they followed the advice cf the Lords of the Admiralty to the last Premiers' Conference the better it would be for New Zealand, Australia, and the Empire. '
