M.U. lie had been an active member of that lodge since 1848, and to show the health he enjoyed it may be added that .Mr Miller never drew sick pay throughout the lengthy period of his membership. Oij Thursday Mr J.A.Smyth (President, of the Clifton. Football' Club) presented Mr H. Spurdle with a prettv' watch chain pendant in tile shape of a football in gold, with the engraving "Presented to. Mr 11. Spurdle bv ( the members of the Cliiton Footbail Club |? s a uiark of esteem, May 20, 1005. Mr Smyth remarked that for lourteen years the recipient had been Secretary of the Club, and 'the members felt they must tangibly acknowledge his valuable services so willingly given.
