At the Mart there was a fair entry of poultry, and prices were fairly well maintained. Hens made Is to Is 6d, pullets up to 2s. Minorca rooster 6s 6d, roosters l<y 9d to 3s, bacon sd. Sundries made low prices. Cattle.—On Monday I held a clearing sale at the Carrington Road on account of Mr Jos. Crockett, when there was a large attendance. The cows were a fine lot, but there were no early calvers, and consequently no extreme prices. Considering the state of the cattle market and the prevailing scarcity of feed, very satisfactory prices were realised for both dairy and farm stock. Implements and sundries sold well. Dairy cows made £3 10s to £6- ss. heifers in calf £3 10s, 15 months halfbred Jersey heifers £3, weaners 19s, harness! horses £l2 to £2O, store pigs 7s to 235, breeding sows 17s t 0 17» 6d, sow and litter of 4, £2 17s. At Waiwakaiho on Tuesday and Stony River on Wednesday there were small yardings. Cattle, however, in both places were in better demand and prices on the whole showed an improvement on late rates. | At Waiwakaiho weaners made 10s to 18s <sd, 2 year heifers in calf £H 3s, springing heifers £4 Bs, store cows 30s to 355, spring calvers £2 5s to £3 3s.

A good yarding of veal calves sold at 8s to £2 4s. Store and dairy cattle.—Only a few pens came forward, and the only quotable line was of 10 3-year-old steers, which passed at £5 12s 6d. About thirty head of dairy cows were yarded. Good milkers were not quite so brisk of sale, making £7 to £lO ss, others £5 to £6 10s, aged £4 to £5. I'igs.—There was a large yarding, and all classes met with dull sale, especially fats, and prices all round were lower. Heavy weight baconers' made 50s to 635, medium 40s to 48s equal to 4d to 4id per It) ; porkers, 23s to 335, equal to 4-Jd to 4fd per lb : large stores 20s .to 22s'; medium 12s to 18s, weaners 6s to 10s.
