(Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, May 26. At Ihe Supreme Court the police scandal cases were continued. The Crown Prosecutor intimated that there would be no re-trial in th* -caso of the joint charges Against -Moses and JfcDonald, on which the jury disagreed, and he would adqept a pica of guilty of receiving. James McDonald then pleaded guilty of receiving gooda stolen from Messrs Ahlfeid llros. Justice Williams said before passing- sentence he Would like to hear all the cases. , The qharge against Quill was adjourned till June 12. Oliver Henry Osborne was theii charged, and pleaded not guilty to stealing handkerchiefs from Kilroy and Sutherland. The jury returned a verdict of guilty o! roreceiving goods knowing them to •have been stolon, ivath a recommendation to mercy, as they believed ho v.-as the tool of othera. Accused pleaded guilty lo receiving on two other charges. The Judge deferred sentence until after the hearing of Quill's case.' He saidi that possibly; by that time inorc light would bo thrown on the case.
