IMPRESSIVE CEREMONY. (Received May 25, 9.45 p.m.) LONDON", May 2.1. The colonial memorial to the fallen troopers in the Doer War, erected in. St.. Paul's Cathedral, and ol>ened by the Prince of Wales on Empire Day, represents an angel with oulstrctchud wings bending over a figure on a cross* The memorial, which is in Hjronze, was designed by Hie Duchpss of Argyle< An impressive servico was held, aU tended by a large congregation, Ineluding the Princess of Teck, Mr llalfour, Hight Hon. A. Lyttelton (Minister for Foreign Affairs), Mr Arnold Forster (Secretary for War), Mr Chamberlain, the Duke of Argyle, Lord Roberts, Kir Redvers llullor, Lond Methuen, Bir I'M ward Hntton (cx-Commandant of the Federal forces'), Major-General Baden-Powell, Loud and Lady Carrington (ex-(Jov-ernor of New South Wales), Lord and Lady Hanfurly, Sir George Sydezdj'am Clarke, and the Agcnts-Oon-eraL The Prince of Wales wore the uniform of the King's Colonials,, who provided a guard of honour. Canon Scott-Holland, of London, delivered an address, in which he emphasised the thrill the nation fell when it was discovered that Uie colonist, was; ready to assist the Motherland, showing that the bond of blood did not need artificial ties to Cftforco it.* claim.
