Mr U. J. W. Hallett, of the Land transfer Office, Ohristchurch, has been appointed to the New Plymouth office. Mr Hallett is a well-known athlete in Canterbury, and is among the most prominent sprint runners there, having represented Canterbury College in uthletics in the recent in-ter-collegiate tournament at Wellington. For the last three years he nas been a member of the first eleven of the Addington Hockey Club, who during the three years have "eon runners-up for the Senior Championship. Mr Hallett also plays lootball, and is an enthusiastic cricketer.
