LICENSING CASES.

(Per Press Association.) THAMES, May 15. Licensing cases were brought under the new Act before Magistrate HuA to-day. Several residents were charged with being on licensed gremises on Good Friday. In cases w here tho Magistrate accepted the rcasou given as a lawful excuse, such as using the conveniences outside tho hotel proper, or being entertained as guests of the landlord, he dismissed the information. Where residents went on the premises, and w v re then invited to tea, the Magistrate held that tiliey had not: enteral the premises ns guests, and could not be treated as such. Ho recorded convictions in these, and dismissed charges of exposing liyuor for sale on Good Friday, where the only persons, so fluus the evidence went, to whom liyuor was exposed wore the police. I
