Horses.—Aged draughts £l6 10s to £29, good backs and harness £ls 5s to~fit7 15s, ordinary £5 to £l6. 'At Bemuera beef was in average supply and maintained late prices. Steers £7 15s to £lO 17s 6d, up to '23s per 1001b, cows £4 to £B, up to 20s per SM)lb. , Sheep.—There was the usual muster, and best quality made up to late rates. Wethers made to 245, ewes to 235, lambs to lGs 6d. Pigs Were in Short supply, and were better worth. ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. CHHISTCBVBCH, May 10. At the. Aldington yards to-day there was a medium entry oSf stock and a fair attendance of buyers. ..There was an improvement in the prices of store sheep and fat lambs, but fat sheep showed little change. Beef was dull of sale, and further declined in value, and pigs were also easier. There was little demand tor Store cattle, hut dairy cows sold weU, Stere sheep.—The yarding was smaller than for some weeks past, and, consequently there was a bet ter sale and a little recovery in price'. Sound-*n*uthed ewes brought 18s lid, forward wethers ISs .'id, four-tooth-half-breds 17s sd, two-tooth baM-fcredsi 15s 6d to 16s 9d, forward lambs 13s 4d to 15s sd. Fat lambs.—The entry was ."-mailer than of late, numbering 22<i0, and tbey sold under good com,(3UtiDn at rather firmer rates ; 1807 were taken for freezing, 120 were bought l,y butchers, and the balance were jawed. Prices—lsa 6d to 19s for la nib 'weights, and 19s to 21s for tegs. Fat sheep.—The supply was not a large, due. But there were some prime lines of both wethers and ewes on oner. The market opened fully up to the previous week's rates, and prime welhcrs soM well throughout, but other classes, especially old ewes, bicaino easier as the sale progressed. Frices-Trime wethers 22s 6d to 25s ; medium 20s to 225, light 17s 9d to 19s lOd, prime heavy cwes|, 19s to 21s 2d, medium to good* 17s to IPs 9d, aged 13s to 16s 6d, prime merino wethers 17s 1U to 20s. Fat cattle.—The yarding totalled 183, of which a fair proportion was of prime quality. The sale was again very duJl, and business was very difficult to effect, even at the lower range: of prices that were ruliug. Steers sold at £5 15s to £9 10a; heifers £5 to £7, and cows £5, 78 Sd to £6 (equal to 17s Od to 19s for prime, a few extra to 21s, and cows and inferior lis to 17s per lOptb). A good entry of veal calves made 7s Od to £2 14s, according to size and quality* Store) nnd dairy cattle.—A small and mixed ' yarding, mostly eighteen months and two years old. There was a poor demand and a dull sale. Dairy cows sold well at late rales, fifteen to eighteen months 455, two-year-old steers .lis to 57s 6d, two-year-old heifers 50s, three-year-old steers £5 17s fid, dry cows 24s to £4 6s, dairy cows £4 10s to £9 10s. Pigs.—There was a large entry. Baconera sold somewhat irregularly, but prime jtjuality showed littlu change in value. Porkers were easier, as Were also stores, especially small sorts-.
