CHILD EATS MATCH HEADS.

(Per Press Association.) CJHIUSTCHURCH, May 10. Margaret Ellen Mackie, twenty months old, died at the hospital today as the result of eating match beads on Monday afternoon. The child had eaten the heads oil one or two matches, and yesterday morning she had consumed another match head, but no ill effects resulted. Yesterday morning the child's father discovered on the floor of one of tho roolns of the house a number of matches with their heads chewed off. The child waa given some warm salt and water, whjch caused vomiting, but die took ill again later in the day. A doctor was called in, and ordered the removal of the child to the hospital, where she was treated for phosphorus poisoning.
