A TRADE DISPUTE.
(Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, May 10. Messrs A. and T. Burt, Limited, have written to t'ho Premier with reference to a statement made by a deputation from tlie Trades and Labour Councils Conference that two of their men were dismissed for the prominent part they had taken in Union a (fairs. Messrs Hurt state that the men were dismissed solely for breaches of discipline, and that the Inspector of Factories at the time was invited to make the fullest investigation. The men reported th« matter to their Union, who took proceedings, and the case is partly heard. The writers express surprise that the Premier should be made a
medium to circulate a statement of a case which is sub judice.
