Fitzroy School Committee
A meeting of this committee was hejd on Tuesday evening, Mr Steele presiding-. Jt was decided to continue for the present to keep thci. school fund account at the llank ol New Zealand. The Headmaster's monthly report' whs read, and various matters therein dealt" with. It was decided that as soon as the date of the completion of alterations is known, that the date of tho re-opening entertainment be fixed and advertised. . The question of necessary improvements to the grounds was deferred till next meeting so as to the committee an opportunity of thoroughly going into the matter previous to thnt meeting. It was arranged that Messrs Lei, Steele and Weller meet the representatives of the Central and West End Schools on Thursday next to discus* the arrangements for the proposed combined schools concert.
The secretary reported having received replies from some of the committees relative to the proposed School Committees Association, and that only one committee at present did not propose to join in the movement.
