Municipal Elections.
(Per Frcas Association.) AUCKLAND, April 20,
Very keen interest was taken in the Mayoral election for the city. The candidates were Artliur M. Myers, John McLeod, and J. T. Julian, the two last-named being members of the retiring council. Tho running was between Myers und McLeod,. It was generally expected t'luit Myers would win, though McLeod had a strong following, amongst the friendly societies, the Touiporanco IVirty and the working clusses, and his supporters expressed themselves confident of victory up till the last. The result was a victory for Myers by a majority of Wo'2 k he receiving 5193 votes us ugainst 3511 fur McLeod. Julian secured 027 votes.
