New Plymouth Borough Council.
THE ELECTIONS. As anticipated, the number of nominations for the position of Mayor md Councillors did not exceed the number required to constitute the Horough Council, and no contest will be necessary.
Those nominated were, at noon on Thursday, declared by the Returning Officer (Mr F. T. Hellringer, town clerk) duly elected for the ensuing, year, The new Council will therefore be comprised as follows! Mayor, Richard Cock (re-elected). Councillors: East Ward George Cliff (re-c!ect-ed), Frank Edwin Wilson (re-elected), William Neilson Ewing. Central Ward—William Francis Brooking (reflected), William Andrews Collis (reelected)], Charles I lay ward Burgess. West Ward—George William Browne (re-elected), Jamos Frederick Stohr, Gustavo Tisch. —Changes in the Council.— Cr. W. N. Ewing thus fills''t he place of Cr. A. Wood, for Hie east ward ; Cr. C. H. Ilurgess takes the place of Cr. M. Frasjr for the Centra! Ward ; and Cr, J. F. Stohr and G. Tisch supersede Crs. S. S. Medlev and G', Allien for the West Ward.
