"THE GENERAL."
WELCOMED BY THE MINISTRY. (Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, April 1,1). There was a huge crowd to meet General Booth on h,is arrival from the South this evening, including the Mayor, representative .ministers from most of the churches, a number of members of Parliament, and others. The General was briefly welcomed by the Mayor, and then held a meeting with the officers of the Salvation Army. He is the guest hero of Mr William Drown. It is understood that the Primate I will confer with the General to-mor-row. The Premier wired "The Ministry cordially invite you to be present at the reception proposed to be given in your honour at the Parliament Buildings on Saturday, April 29. I shall lie extremely pleased to hear that your arrangements will permit of you accepting the invitation. Kind regards." The General replied : '"Please present my cordial thanks to the Ministry for the kind invitation, acceptance of which gives me great pleasure." The General has received messages of welcome from Lady Stout and prominent colonists.
