At a meeting of the Fire Brigade demonstration committee the balance sheet was submitted, and showed a credit balance of £230 9s 2d, with possibly £lO to come. A proposal to give the surplus to 'the hospital found little favour,, and it was decided to adhere to a former resolution to divide the money among six local brigades, leaving them, if they thought fit, to devote a portion to any charity.
