(Ter Press Association.) WELLINGTON, April 12. Am interesting point was decided by Mr Justice Cooper to-day in reference to the goodwill of licensed hotels. The esVite of the late Mr Jacob Joseph included two hotels, the National Star and Gorier. The former \\«s valued aX £2835, and the latter at £OO7O. \u addition! to these capital values the Commissioner of Stamps claimed duty on the goodwill of the hotels, assessed at £<>ooo and £7OOO. The executors of theetttoite disputed the right to assess the goodwill, ibut Mr Justice C G oper held that the goodwill was pari, of the value of the estate and liable to duty.
