(From Our Correspondent.) The Warea branch of the New Zoalaml Fa/rimers' Union held their an- • nuaP'meeting on Monday, the prcsi- ' dont, Mr J. Burgestf, in the chair. About twenty members were present. < The secretary reported that the membership' had increased from thirty ■ members to 78. The 'balance sheet showed a surplus of £2 7s lid, which i was considered' very satisfactory. Mr Burgess read a circular from Mil lk>ddie, President of tho Provincial Executive, dealing with the finance of the Union, ami urging that every branch shouhl be careful to elect their best men as offioers for the j ensuing ye'r. The President oi the branch (Mr Burgess) gave a brief resume of the year's work, and touched upon the smnllmss of the subscriptions compared with other unions, also the very half hearted way members rollup to meetings, leaving the work to ft few enthusiastic men. Jf the union jwas going to be successful ull this must be altered. The speaker then gave a few instances where the union had done good work during the I past year, the mosl important being the starting of the Farmers' Mutual Insurance Association, and the I present agitation f o r the freehold, land valuations modiiled, etc. The jvfect.ion of oflicers resulted .—President, Mr J.
