(By "Moturoa.") Eight horsea figure on tho card for the opening event, tho Borough Handicap. Maniopoto, 7.13, will take a power of beating. Noneen put up two good performances yesterday, and is bound to be handy with her light impost. I will place : Maniopoto 1, Aunrtus 2, Regulation 3. A large tii-KI Iras' paid up for the Flying Hack, which on paper looks decidedly open. Gawaiii, Koyul llliie, Aotcn, and Pretty Maid are a likely quartette, and -tho finish may find [Jawain 1, Royal Blue 2, Prt'tty Maid 8. Repulse, Wind, and Valima should pun well in the Hack Hurdles. I like their chances in the order named. Only six have accepted for the Autumn Handicap. Kaharoa on Wei-
lington form has a good winning j chance and may score. The Maiden Hack Scarry contains untried material. Trephine and Sir Goraint have performed crelltably when seen out, and one of these should prevail. The.luvenile Handicap looks open. Lndy White and Prelude should run well up, and the former may be tho one to catch thc judge's eye. The meeting concludes with the Farewell Handicap. Previous running will throw some light on this event, but to make a selection f will take : Maniopoto 1, Ziska 2, Ngata« rua 3. 'AVONDALE J.C. AL'TLMN MEETING.
