Campbell and Sons' Burwood leases having expired and been relinquished, twenty-seven thousand sheep were sold yesterday iu the presence of three 'Hundred bujors, including a strong Canterbury contingent. Crossbred ewes brought 19s to 24s 6d, wotheis- 13s to 18s, cull lambs lis 7d, comebacks 13s to 18s 7d. The sale realised £30,000. Ten thousand sheep go to Canterbury. ~

ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. CHBISTCIIURCH, Marxh 29. At Addinglton to-<lay there was a large attendance, farmers particularly being numerously represented. The entries comprised 538 cattle, 22,378 sHfecp, 809 pigs. Fat cattle.—The entry consisted of 181 head, mostly steers of fair <l. uality. The sale was the worst that has taken place at Aldington for many years. Good to prime beef sold at 18s to 20s, a lew head a t 21s, and inferior sometimes as low as 15s per 1001b. Per head, steers sold at £6 to £9 13s, heifers £5 to £7 2s 6d, cows £-1 15s to £7. Fat calves sold at 16s to 455. Dairy cows.—There was a fair demand for springers and flesh young milkers at £6 to £8 10s, but inferior and old stock were almost unsaleable, their prices ranging from £3 15s to £5. Fat sheep.—There was a good entry. The saile opened with a quiet tone, and before it had made much progress it became evident that a slump had arrived. Competition for wethers was extremely languid, and for ordinary ewes was non-existent, with the 'consequence that wethers were Is lower than at the previous sale, while ewes were 2s to 3s lower. A greater decline was marked towards the close of the sale, when it was difficult to get bids for ordinary grades of ewes, which were neglected alike by butchers and by exporters. The prices current were as follows :—Wethers, good to prima, 20s 9d to 25s 3d ; ewes, prime heavy, 20s to 23s (id, medium to good 16s Cd to 19s Gd, aged lis to l(3s; morino ewes, medium, lis Gd to 12s Id. Fat lambs.—About 3500 were penned, and the general quality was good. There was no change in values, hut unfinished lots were rather difficult to sell. Prices ranged from 19s- to 22s 8d for legs, 17s fid to 18s Gd for lanrt) weights, and 15s (id to lfis for small an:l unfinished descriptions. Store sheep and lambs.—The yards were again filled, the entries prolrab'iy totaling Hi.ooo. Farmers competed well for all descriplioms, but dealers gave little support to the sale. The demand for wethers was particularly keen;, and forward lines made Is over th,. previous week's values. For ewes and lambs-, previous rates were maintained. The sale altogether was highly satisfactory to vendors, an almosl complete clearance being effected.
