NOTES BY MOTORUA, ANTICIPATIONS FOR TO-DAY'S MEETING. . The second dny's racing to-day is again noticeable for the smnllness of the fields. The opening event, tho Hurdle Rucc, looks u good thing for Rungoruwn, wh 0 will be suited by the shorter distance. He won his race on Thursday by three lengths pulling up. In the Hutt Handicap I like the chances'of Gold Crown und Regulation, in the order named. Royal Blue should win tho Murilai Hack. with. Pardon as hit* most troublesome opponent. Eight appear on the card for the Autumn Handicap, which should bo an interesting race. The finish may bo :—Ghoorka, Regulation, Cannio Chiol.
Chrysois and Prelude will probably fight out the finish in the Pacific Handicap, and the former may prevail.
Only four have accepted in the Suburban Handicap. Boris la in form again, and should just ajbuut beat BaJlarat.
llie St. L«ger will prove an exercise gSllop for Nightfall. Maui won so easily on Thursday that ho should again catch tho judge's e y ß m the Belmont Hack, with Coxswain und Hukuaku la close attenduncci
The Thompson and Railway Handicap double was picked bv thirtyfour investors, who each "received a dividend of £23. The Signalman —Chryscis combination was backed by forty-six investors, and would have paid £l7. The double to-mor-row will be on the Autumn and Belmont Hack, owing to poor no aaptances for the Pacifio. Auratus rturted favourite in the Thompson Handicap. Ho ran a good race, but Signalman made the pace too solid when they settled down. Auratus finishing in sixth place. C. rienkins rode five winners out mounts at the Wellington H.
