Mr C. H. Izard, who in contesting the Wellington seat, addressed the electors this evening. He declared himsoh* a supporter of the (Jovernment. A member of Parliament, tie raid, must be eltiicr for or against the Ministry; he did not believe inj independent memberti. The present Government had rendered greit service to the colony, had prevented industrial strife, reduced the rate of interest, and placed on the HUtuto Book many Acta of great value. lie declared himself to bo in favour of the leasehold, and believed in compulsory preference to unionists. At the conclusion of the addiessa. vole of thanks and confidence was carried.
