NOTICE TO THE COUNCIL'S TENANTS.

Wood and Collis submitted of the Council. Cr. Collis, in moving the adoption ol the report, explained thu't three ol the properties were badlv over-run with the weeds specified*. Hie others mentioned were only slightly infested, but still the holders should bu notified. In one place where the word "docks" was specified. Cr. Collis asked leave to amend it "to '-'ox-eye daisies," as it was evidently a mistake in copying. Cr. Ahier : Do you know the difference between docks and daisies V Cr. Col.is: Do 1 know the difference between a cut and 11 horse ? (Laughter.) • Cr. Eraser observed that he had never heard buttercups described us noxious weeds bvfore. The report was adopted. It was agreed that subject to the conditions of the leases the three chief offenders be notified that if they did not take nivasurea to eradicate the woods within one month the Council would terminate the leases and re-enter into possession. The other leaseholders named nro also to receive notice to net up to the conditions on .which the leases were grunted, 1
