(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, March 25. Letween «()()(> mid 7000 people witnessed the athletic sports in the Athletic l'urk to-day. Tho weather was perfect, with only a light southerly hreeze to teiiij:,.T tho heat. The tracks were in pood order, ami nlIhotrgh in tho Wkc races there wvre several spills, these were due more to the fault of the riders than to the ground, I>uffey„ though he aijy scored one first out of three starts, was pretty well up to his licst form, but Shrubb was far from hcing| himself. yet he ran very pluckily in the Mile ui«l Three Miie Handicaps, but found the hundienpper had been too generous In his starts. J. Arnst, who won all three wheel races from scratch, was in great form, and none of the other competitors had a chance with him. Young Uodbeherc. u college vouth, who dt-footed Dulfey in the * Hash Handicap, received a great ovation, and was carried shoiilderhigh off the field. Tho win of ihe Premier's son in the final for the 100 yards was ulso well received. About £3OO was taken nt the Rales and stand, exclusive of the huge wiles of tickets in town. Jlesiiits are :

'lhe Mile, Two Miles, and Three Miles Hicycle events were won by J. Arnst from scratch in 2min 108-5 sec, sinin 58s.ee, and Tmin 30 4-5 sec respectively, 100 Yards Public School Championship was won by Forbes in 11 l-ssec. and the Inter-College Championship by (iodlK-here (Wellington College) in 10 1-ss-,-c. 220 Yaixls Public School Championship was won by Kerr in 27 2-5 sec.
