Horses.—At the Durham yards, on Friday, horses wore brought forward in increased numbers, but owing no doubt to the partial holiday, ' bidding was not up lo the previous week. Heavy draughts sold from £3O I IDs to £39, medium ditto £lB 10s to £2B, light harness £lO J Us. The racing pony Silent realised 2<Vs. Cattle.—Al tlo Xcwmurkc; Yards, on Tuesday, dairy and stoic stock were yarded in average i|nantities, and sold at late values. There was u good yarding of bcoi, although it was mostly light weights. Ox beef sold up to 22s per 1001b, cow l(7s to, 20s. Fat oxen sold from £5 15s to* £9 15s, fat cons £4 5s to £7 15s, dairy cows sold from £4 10s to £9,' empty cows £2 2s to £3 Us, calves If.s to £1 18s, a draft of stcrs from Mr James (iiven, I'ollok, sold at from £8 to £9 15s.
| Sheep were yarded in scarcely av- . and met a readv'w a le at improved rates. Wethers sold at Us (id to £1 2s 6d, ewes 12s 3d lo £1 Is 6d, lambs Ss 9d to 15s 9d. Pigs.—Scarce. Porkers sold at 19s (id to £3 7s, weaners t\s (kl to 15s. At Waiuku on Saturday there was a small yarding of stock, but prices .showed an upward tendency. Dairy cows sold from £4 10s to £7 15s, empty cows £3 2s 6d to £3 10s, calves 15s to £1 18s, beef at Newmarket rates. We submitted an extra large catalogue of hides, skins', and tallow, on Tuesday, all being cleared under strong competition. Hides.—Market firm. We quote : Extra stout 6Jd to (JJd, stout to (ijd, medium ljd to s{d, light and sheety 4Jd to ljd, cow best lines IJd. good 4Jd to 4Jd, stags 3d to 3{d, calfskins s}d to 5Jd, ditto cut 4Jd. kips 4Jd to 4»d. Sheepskins.—Market firm. Best butchers' pelts and lambs' 2s to 2s 6d, ditto damaged 9d to Is Od. Tallow.—Market easier. Best mixed 18s to 19s, good 17s to 17s 6d, seconds 14s to 16s. Rough fat ljd to l{d.
Horsehair.—ls 2d to Is 3d. Cow tails Is 6d dozen. Bones £5. Maize.—Market has advanced Id per bushel, and selling freely at 2s lid delivered.
Oats.—Supplies arc small, and good oats sell readily at 2s 2d ex store for B grade. Chaff.—Firm at £4 7s Od at rail, per truck load, for prime samples. Potatoes.—Values reduced to £9, owing to heavier supplies coining in from the South. Biitivr.—Advanced Jd per lb, and linn at BJd for superior Repsrator, good 7.id to Bd, poor iniulities 7d to 7Jd. Choose.—Markot dull. Stocks fairly, heavy, especially farmers', which is almost unsalable. Factory ljd, farmers' 3"d. GRAIN REPORT.

CHSHISTCHURCJI, March 22. At the Addington yards the entries wore good, comprising 585 cattle, 25,167 shteep, and 538 pigs. Fat cattle.—l7B head usA'ul to prime quality. Prices wcro unchanged, but a few desirable sorts brought higher prices. Good' to prime beef sold at 20s to 225, and occasionally 23s ; cow and inferior to second quality, Jss to 19s per 1001b. Steers sold at £0 l<> £ll, heifers £5 5s to £9 10s, and eows £4 17s Od to £8 per head. Fat calves.—A good entry was Cleared at 7s 6d to 50s a head.
Storb cuttle—There was a large yarding, but the demand, however, was extremely dull, and a Vaiye proportion was. withdrawn. Sales were made at the following prices : Calves 18s, yearlings 33s to 375, fifteen 'to eighteen "months 35s to 555, two-ycar-oH hetfers £3, two and a half year oM steers £4 ss, thrce-yepr-oldr steers £4 2s to* £-1 ss, three-ycar>-old heifers £4 7s to £4l2s (3d, dry cowa 28s to 545. Store sheep.—The yarding totalled 16.000, including consignments from the North Island, Nelson, and Chat-1 ham Islands. The demand was good. Wethers hardened slightly and lambs were linn. Aged or faulty ewes .suffered a further fall of Is or 2s. Forward wethers sold at 20s to 21s 7d, two-tooths at I (is fid to 18b fid, wether lambs 15s to Ins 9d, mixed sexes to l<>s fid, good four, six, and eight tooth ewes to 24s fid, two-tooths to 225, aged Us 6d to 1 8s. Pigs.—There was a small entry and prices were well maintained.
