AUSTRALIA v, NEW ZEALAND. (Per Frees Association.) WELLINGTON, March 18. New Zealand bad to submit to another crushing defeat nt the hands of Australia, the latter winning bv the big margin of an innings and 358 runs. The weather was glorious, and the wicket in good order when piny was resumed nt noon. The Australians lost two wickets, Noble and Gregory, prior to the luncheon adjournment. At that stage Noble declared to close hie innings. Armstrong gave a sound exhibition for his runs. The bowling figures of the New Zealandcrs s|>e>ik for themselves. They mode another poor showing in their second essuv, the whole side being up-ended in two hours for 141. Blacklock. Hickson. and Grabain gave the brightest displays. Armstrong troubled the Ira tsinen, who, however, with the exception of the players above referred to showed an utter lack of confidence. The Adding and catching of the Australians was clean and dexterous, in marked contrast to the wretched exhibition given by the New Zealanders right through the Australian innings.
