KUROPATKIN ADMITS FIFTY THOUSAND WOUNDED.
SUPERIORITY OF JAPANESE INTELLIGENCE DEPARTMENT. REGIMENTS WIPED OUT. (Received March 14, 11.9 p.m.) LONDON, March It General Kuroprftkin admits- there are fifty thousand wounded Russians. He claims to have retreated in perfect order, though the movement of the transport was difficult owing to the Japanese cannonade. He acknowledges the superiority of the Japanese Intelligence Department. Reporting on Sunday, he states there were one and a half divisions of Japanese within cannonshot of the First Anny. H« admits that the First Siberian Rifles, which lost over a thousand during the retreat on the 6th, fought a rearguard action to protect the Second Army, and suffered severely from the Japanese Are on both flanks. Only three officers and liil men, with colours, wicrc extricated. Heavy losses were experienced by the other divisions, notably in the Yarioff Regiment, of which only two officers and 619 men are left.
