MONTHLY AIEE.TING. I The ordinary meeting of the Hoard of School Commissioners for the Tnranaki district was held at the oitice of the secretary tMr K. J'. Corkill) oii Friday. 'Hiero were pioscnt : Messrs It. Cock tin the chair), .leanings, M.H.It., l-'aull, and Wade. An apology was received from Air Sampson, who was absent from New Plymouth. I —A Sub-Tenant's Dilliculty.— I It. J. llaiijver, sub-tenant of Air O'Connor, w'aited on the Hoard and stated that he tvas unable to farm the property in a proper manner for reasons slated. The Chairman informed Mr Hanover that the Hoard could only deal with the lessee. I it was •decided that the ranger should specially visit Air O'Connor's leasehold and report thereon, and that the Chairman, on receipt of such, report, take whatever steps may bo necessary to protect the Commissioners' interests. —Alorey Street.—

Council.. ' I —A Hating Alalter.— I Mr Geo. Ilunell, lessee of part ' section 2-1, tfiock Jo, Ngaire Survey district, forwarded the opinion of his solicitor (Air Cuplen) as to His . liability under a special rale levied by the Ilawera County l.ouncii, and ui-.'iing that tire Hoard obtain the advice of their solicitors on thv tjucstion. i The matter wus accordingly referred to the Bound's solicitor. —Assessor.— Mr David Pear wrote accepting the appointment of assessor in the arbitration matter pending between the Boaed and the Eltham Borough Council. —A Tenant's Death.— I The Hoard's solicitor report e.l 111- \ death of Mrs Alary Ann Cogger, of Patea, and advised as to the method of dealing with, her leasehold. • The solicitor was 'instructed to take steps to determine the lease and resume possession of the pro- . petty,, and the secretary to take whatever measures might be necessary to protect thd premises. ij —Wanganiii School Site.— I 'file Wanganui Education Board ap'i Ijlied for 20 acres out of section 33, \ -block 10, Ng»air« Survey district. as 1 a site for ni school;, with plu,\ grounds, horsv paddock, drill ground, and model gardens' ;• this being a part, of \ the land held by Air G,. J. Willy on 1 perpetual lease. It was resolved that the Wanganui Education Board be informed thai the land applied for 'is at present the subject of litigation, and it Would be inexpedient to attempt to deal with any portion thereof until a settlement has been obtained, , Init tlie Commissioaiers wil'! be piv- . pared at a future time to consider an application for a moderate addition to the present school area. l —Reserves for Leasing.— | The ranger reported- adversely on tho condition ef the reserve on the Kent lload leased to Air C, T. I —Transfer oi: Leases.— I It was resolved that upon the Board's solicitor in each case reporting that all papers are in order and all rents and costs paid; the seal of the Board be affixed tio consents to transfers of leases. I The following transfers of leases were fctut,horis<ed :—Matthew Hon Hey to Christopher C. Pridcuux, section 80, block 10, K.mpokonui S.I). ; Thomas Brash to J. W. Boon, sec-j tions 1322, etc., New Plymouth. I Ihe application of If. P. Mills' to transfer his lease of section 3, block ' -la, Capo district, to A. C.
