'I he anniversary services in connection with St. Andrew's Sabbath ■ School were* successfully celebrated ' on Sunday. | The afternoon service, at which the distribution of the prizes and medals took place, was largely attended by the parents and friends of the scholars, extra seating acooinjmodaton hating to l,e rdtuisilioned. ! Thirty-three cf the children had never missed an atltendance dining the whole year, I while sixteen others had been absent [only on one occ. .nm. In regard to jthe examinations .- ; 1..y the General Assembly of the Pre -,i} lurian Church, j eleven scholars had sat for the Catechism paper and one' for Scriptural knowledge. Every scholar succeeded |ia oiijaining u puss, mi less than lite of them securing- the full percentage |of marks, UK). For the local nxniu- . ination eleven children were atvaril!ed prizes for good work in repealing [portions of scripture. ! The llev. J. Johnston, after a 'short address, proceeded to distribute the prizes. The liev. S. Osborne kindly provided eighteen prizes in the form of books, and two silver medals. For. the General Assembly e.vnnrnation the passes were :—-Catechism Seniipr division : Maggie Ho i, 70 per cent. .Aliddlc division : John Builard, H 5 per cent ; Archie AliGiten, ST ; Mela MacDiainiid, ill ; Knid Corney 9."> ; Winifred ltea, DO : Arthur Hculy, 100; Arthur Osborne, 100. Junior division : Alaggie llullurd, 100 per cent. ; Mary Bowling, 100 ; Clyde AldGitcii, 100. Scripture Knowledge : —Senior division : Gordon AlaeUiannid, !>9 per cent. ' For repeating scripture (local examination) the following received prizes :—Bruce Smart, Alonu I,opine, Gladys Doilo, Itos-ie Hea, Douglas llarle, Ivan Lougmuir, Julia Kllioll, Myra Ilea, Kenneth K.wing, Harry Eh dug, and Arthur Osborne. Xuinorous awards for attendance were also made. I An attractive feature of the gathering was the admirable singing of tlie children, tinder the baton of Mr K. W. Sinclair. The.Kev. J. Johnston preached morning and evening, ami <tt the latter service took the opportunity of specially addressing the young members of the congregation. Appropriate music tvas rendered on each occasion, the choir being heard to great advantnge in the anthems "<), Praise the Cord," and "Exalt Iliui All Ye People."
