A cricket match was played here on Saturday. 4th March, Ixet-ween Warea and Oka to. Warea mude 31 and Okato 30. The game was very even all through. On Thursday, March 7th, the Farmers' Union held a picnic on Mr .M acl> on a I'd' s- packl o c k ? . > During the day a cricket match was played between the Union and The World, which resulted in a very easy win for the I'nion by an innings and 20 i'uns. For the winners W. MacLachlan and B. Anderson were the chief scorers, making 25 and 19 respectively. For the world C. Hagar played a very good game, hitting out in first-class stylo and giving no chances, his leg hits being extremely good. While the game was proceeding the ladies were busy gelling u first-rate lunch ready in tile hall, to which about one hundred jjeople sat down. I In the evening a dance was held in the hall, which was fairly well attended ; but the weather proved too warm for much dancing. Sir W. Larkin gave a()vcry good imitation of a cornet, and also a whistling solo. | Mr E. Larkin acted as M.C.
